Emphasising that all Indian students in the COVID-19-struck Wuhan, Hubei province, are in good condition, China’s Ambassador to India Sun Weidong said they were being taken care of and provided with protective gear, necessities and food.
The authorities in China have asked educational institutes to delay the start of spring session, he said, suggesting students who wanted to go back should contact the university for confirmation.
“China and India have been keeping close communication on the epidemic. We appreciate solidarity and support rendered by India… [both] are actively collaborating on epidemic prevention and control. We keep India informed and updated of the epidemic provided necessary assistance and convenience for the return of Indian citizens and ensured the health and safety of Indian nationals in China,” Ambassador Sun said at press conference on the epidemic.
